River Shores is happy to offer complimentary consultations to anyone who is unsure if their case may be helped by Chiropractic.  Dr. Wick will spend time listening to your description of the problem and ask questions that will help her determine if Chiropractic is right for you.  She will be happy to refer you to another healthcare professional if she feels they would be better suited to treat your condition.

Here is what you can expect at your initial visit...

Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork.  Bring your insurance card and a photo ID for your file.  Please feel free to download our new patient paperwork and fill it out prior to your visit.

You will be brought back to our exam room and asked to watch a short informational video about Chiropractic.  This helps to answer common questions that most patients have and gives you some more information about what to expect at our office.

If you have not already met with Dr. Wick for a complimentary consultation she will do that prior to your exam.  The information you provide her will help her decide what exams and possible x-rays are needed in your case and those will be performed that day. 

Not everyone will need x-rays, however, it is very common for them to be taken.  These x-rays help Dr. Wick by showing the position of the spinal bones and any other pre-existing conditions that may affect your care.  If you are pregnant or have had recent spinal x-rays please inform Dr. Wick. 

In some cases, you may receive interferential, hot, cold, or laser therapy.  Dr. Wick may also give you some home care instructions.

 

That will conclude your first visit and you will be asked to make your second appointment for the next day if possible.  This initial visit usually takes 1-1.5 hours.  All subsequent visits will be much shorter.


Many patients expect their first adjustment during this initial visit, but it is very important to allow Dr. Wick the time necessary to review your exam findings and x-rays.  She will also formulate a treatment plan that is specific to your case.  At your second visit she will inform you about your condition and exam/ x-ray findings.  You will also have the opportunity to discuss your treatment plan and specific care details with her.
